Dylumio

Usage Agreement

Effective Date: July 12, 2026

This Usage Agreement describes how families are expected to use Dylumio day to day. It is the practical, plain-language companion to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where this Usage Agreement and the Terms of Service address the same topic, the Terms of Service control as the binding legal contract.

By using Dylumio, the parent or guardian who holds the account agrees to follow this Usage Agreement and to supervise each learner's use in line with it.

1. Who Uses Dylumio

Dylumio is a reading and writing platform used by kids and teens across a broad age range, always through a parent or guardian's account. The parent is the account holder and is responsible for setting up learner profiles, choosing settings, and supervising use.

Learners do not have their own login credentials, billing access, or the ability to change account-level settings. Parents decide which features, pathways, and connected data sources are enabled for each learner.

2. Educational Support, Not Diagnosis or Treatment

Dylumio builds reading and writing skills and can flag patterns that may be worth a closer look. It is education-forward practice — not a medical, psychological, or clinical service, and not a diagnosis.

Dylumio can be especially supportive for learners who find reading, writing, or focus harder, including learners with dyslexia, ADHD, or anxiety. That support is provided through structure, encouragement, and interest-driven practice. It is not therapy, treatment, or a substitute for evaluation or care by a qualified professional.

Do not rely on Dylumio, including its screener, reports, or AI features, as the sole basis for any medical, mental-health, educational, or legal decision about a learner.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Dylumio for its intended purpose: supporting the learning of children and teens in your own family or care. In that spirit, you may:

  • Create learner profiles for children you are responsible for, using accurate age and grade information.
  • Let those learners complete screeners, lessons, pathways, journals, and games under your supervision.
  • Connect learning accounts you own or are authorized to connect, and review the insights Dylumio generates.
  • Contact us with questions, feedback, or requests about your account or a learner's data.

4. Prohibited Use

To keep Dylumio safe and fair for every family, you agree not to:

  • Share account credentials, resell access, or use one account to serve children outside your own family or care.
  • Enter another person's data — including another child's schoolwork, recordings, or connected-platform data — without the right and authority to do so.
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, subscription gating, moderation, or other safeguards.
  • Scrape, copy in bulk, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract Dylumio's content, scoring logic, or AI models, or use them to build a competing product.
  • Upload malicious code, probe or disrupt the Services, or interfere with other families' use.
  • Use the Services to harass, harm, or deceive others, or in any way that violates law or the rights of others.

5. Using the AI Mentor and AI Features Responsibly

Dylumio includes AI features — including a learning mentor, tutor feedback, explanations, and personalized recommendations — that draw on a learner's interests, performance, and connected data to tailor guidance.

AI output is generated automatically and can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. It is a study aid, not an authority. Review AI-generated guidance before a learner acts on it, and use your own judgment about what is appropriate for your child.

The AI mentor is designed not to give direct answers to active exercises and not to make medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or diagnostic claims. Please do not attempt to pressure or trick it into doing so, into revealing another user's information, or into producing unsafe content.

If an AI response is inappropriate, unsafe, or concerning, stop and report it to us at support@dylumio.com so we can review it.

6. Connected Accounts and Imported Data

Dylumio can connect to outside learning tools and platforms (for example, classroom, diagnostic, or practice services) to import a learner's progress and personalize their pathway. Connecting a source is always the parent's choice.

By connecting a source or importing data, you represent that you own the account or are authorized to connect it and to import that data for the learner, and you authorize Dylumio to receive and use it to personalize the learner's experience as described in the Privacy Policy.

You may disconnect a source at any time in settings. Disconnecting stops future imports and removes the imported records associated with that source from the learner's active profile, subject to limited backup and legal retention. Do not connect sources that belong to other families or that you are not permitted to share.

7. Voice Recordings

Some activities record a learner's voice to evaluate reading. Record in a quiet, appropriate environment, and do not have a learner read out or include unnecessary sensitive personal information.

Recognizing children's speech is imperfect, and transcripts or scores may contain errors. Treat voice-based results as a helpful signal, not a precise measurement, and supervise recording sessions.

8. Community and Safety Features

Social features such as Reading Friends are intentionally privacy-limited. Learners do not have open chat or free-text messaging with strangers, and detailed scores, transcripts, or results are not shared with other families.

Supervise your learner's participation, keep personal contact information out of any free-text fields, and report anything that seems unsafe. We may limit, suspend, or remove social features or accounts to protect safety and privacy.

9. Fair Use and Availability

Dylumio applies reasonable usage and rate limits to keep the Services affordable, secure, and available to everyone. Automated, abusive, or excessive use may be throttled or blocked.

We continuously improve Dylumio, so features, coursework, pathways, and AI behavior may change over time.

10. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure, providing accurate learner information, supervising use, and making sure the way your family uses Dylumio follows this Usage Agreement and the Terms of Service.

You are responsible for all activity under your account, including activity by the learners you allow to use it.

11. Consequences of Violations

If this Usage Agreement or the Terms of Service is violated, we may take proportionate action, including issuing a warning, limiting or disabling specific features, suspending access, or terminating the account, as described more fully in the Terms of Service. We prioritize actions that protect child safety and the integrity of the Services.

12. Changes and Acceptance

We may update this Usage Agreement from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Services, by email, or by updating the effective date above. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Usage Agreement.

This Usage Agreement supplements, and does not replace, the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
